A week of ups and downs
Monday
Up: After a week and a half in the hospital with a bowel obstruction, Theresa's Mom gets good news from a cat scan, no surgery.
Down: Luke is getting teeth, and as a result wakes up 27 times in the middle of the night.
Tuesday
Down: I oversleep and almost miss an interview.
Up: I was not only on time, but I had a great third interview at one of the two prosperous internet companies in the bay area. The interview ends with the words, "Great! If we decide to go forward with this, could you start on Monday?"
Down: As I'm walking out of the interview Theresa calls to tell me that the spots on her Mom's liver are growing and she will resume chemotherapy.
Down: When I get to work, there is a huge string of emails regarding our branch's production and it ends with, "Yeah, I'm going to need everyone to come in on Saturday."
Down: When I get home from work I get the "Thank you for your time, but you didn't get the job email" Rats.
Wednesday
Up: I spent the morning on my longboard with Phil, Ross, Beave, and Mike. Followed by breakfast at Ferrell's Donuts in Santa Cruz
Up: Luke was already asleep by the time I got home, so I was able to enjoy some rare one-on-one time with Jack. There was a lot of tickling and wrestling.
Thursday
Down: The Regional V.P. of Sales was in our office to put the smack down on our office for generally sucking.
Up: Had lunch with a co-worker and his friend Josh Shipp who is a motivational speaker, I needed some motivating.
Up: Theresa's Mom gets to come home from the hospital.
Friday
Down: A loan I've been working on for 2 months gets squashed by a lame underwriting restriction.
Up: The same loan is resurrected by my hard working assistant.
Lets hope for many ups this weekend. Happy Easter.
