Woah! To be clear, I did not do all these changes. The entire Blogger team and even some other folks were involved. More news tomorrow.

Love it. Blogged about it already, albeit briefly. I'm a mom and a grandmother so it's a great Mother's Day gift for me and I'll thank you and everyone who worked on it right now. I'm having a little trouble getting the comments going, so went back to Haloscan for the moment, but I'll have plenty of time to check it all out in other week when I'm on vacation.

It's pretty but I preferred the old authoring page. Comments? Just another spam magnet. I see, this being my first new Blogger comment, that my name is being drawn from my profile, with no option to edit it, one more thing less than lovely. And previewing this comment I see that linebreaks are not respected and I cannot insert them with HTML tags.

This should be a new paragraph but, of course, it isn't. Am I being curmudgeonly? As always. My informal linkback.

We have actually have tried to be smart about the spam stuff. As you may have noticed, I'm only allowing comments here from folks who have a Blogger account. I would expect like other spam fighting that this will take a while to perfect. Roll with it.

Regarding the display name, just edit your profile in Blogger and you can post as whatever name you prefer.

Hmm, I miss a feature to group posts in categories. Do you plan to implement this in the future?

Sadly, the comments commentary was the least of my concerns.

Nice job. Very pleasant to the eye and quite functional. I am sure many of your users will be very happy with the comments feature, though it'd be nice for non-blogger users to be able to post without (without having to register) and include their name and url when they want to add it.

Yo shellen, congrats on the new release. It got me interested enough to bang around a bit. Some comments here.

Oh, pretty decent tag filtering, but what's allowed and what's not? also, no nl2br means everythings just big clumps in the comments? (br and p's are filtered) -- out of curiousity, are you guys using custom code for that or something standard?

Line breaks don't seem to work, no p or br tags. My user name is getting truncated too. The new templates look awesome...but fixed width designs suck in general. 1280x1024 screen resolution is wasted. But a built-in comment system and trackbacks are great. Requiring Blogger logins to comment isn't such a hot idea. Man, Sixapart and Blogware must not be too happy to see these changes. There's basically no reason to go with Typepad any more, except for moblogging and image galleries, which are relatively infrequently used anyway. Google should spin off Blogger and have a separate IPO. They could make quite a bit of money.

Kudos for the new look. It makes the site more readable IMO. I have a question though. I'm a relatively new user of blogger and can't seem a way to search through different blogs. What gives?

i like it, but it looks a bit cartoony, doesn't it? that's my only, minor, minnnnoor gripe. :D other than that it's great!

How come when I click on "Comments" on some blog's powered by Blogger, it takes me to Microsoft.com? Or is it just me? :)

Another bit of feedback: Wha happened to the keyboard shortcuts for post and post & publish? If the other ones(bold, italic) still work, why not them?
